Lucky for me, one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure of meeting – Hanada and Amy – chose a New Zealand elopement to make things official and I jumped on board as their Queenstown wedding planner. As their own story together had been a grand adventure – travelling overseas every year and even rescuing a dog while on holiday in Mexico, a trip to Queenstown with an adventure elopement at Lake Erskine was the perfect choice for their nuptials.
The big day
Waking up to a bluebird day after an overcast week, along with unseasonably early, powdery snow meant that nothing could keep the gorgeous Hanada and Amy from smiling all day long and feeling like their lucky stars were aligned once again. We started with a ‘First Look’ at Kamana Lakehouse to savour the anticipation and excitement of seeing each other for the first time, with my other half Warren of Williams Photography there to capture all the heart-warming, intimate moments. Heading off on a 20-minute helicopter flight across the Great Divide and into Fiordland National Park, we reached Lake Erskine to discover even more gorgeous snow against the blue-green alpine lake.
When we got back to Queenstown, we ventured into a foresty area to capture some more photos of the smitten newly-weds, along with some autumn colours and piggyback rides. A few days later and heading off for a honeymoon to Fiji, these two were starting life as wives just the way they began it together…with lots of sunshine, adventure and brilliant stories to take home and share!
Congratulations Hanada and Amy, you’re married!!! Wishing you lots of love, luck and joy for the years ahead.
